nude-fabric faux-cutout panels, followed by the mock turtleneck pique swim-dresses in
Lacostian technicolors - all belted.The chartreuse and gold swimsuits were enough of a
statement on their own; who knows why the stylist added coordinating neon sleeves with

The Associated Press reports seeing fewer protruding bones on runway
models this Fashion Week. Nian Fish, chair of a fashion designers' health
initiative, says models are sizes 2 and 4 this time around rather than a size 0
and that designers didn't cast prepubescent 13-year-olds. James Aguiar, who
hosts Full Frontal Fashion, says he's noticed curvier girls and more smiles on
runways. We agree on the smiles which models cracked left and right in some
shows. But are models really healthier? Maybe we haven't seen as many
jutting bones as seasons past, but make no mistake — these girls are skinny.
And some were still so gaunt-looking our jaws literally dropped when they
walked by.
Organizations like the National Eating Disorders Association still seem to think
the CFDA's model health initiative isn't doing enough to ensure models are
healthy, and continue to push for a measure that would require models to
present certificates from doctors asserting they don't have eating disorders.
"They do drug testing for sports. Why? To keep competition clean but
hopefully also to save lives. That's what we want, too," NEDA CEO Lynn Grefe
told the AP. Diane Von Furstenberg says the CFDA initiative is meant to raise
awareness "as opposed to throwing those poor girls on a scale and terrifying
them even more." Both women have a point.
So, what do you think? Do models look healthier this season?
Abaete Show ....Fashion week might be fantasy, but
trend-watchers predict that designers are facing reality. So
far, the collections for spring 2009 have been less
flamboyant and more practical. Styles mirror the mood of
the country. Also outside the tents, some plus-sized women
were lobbying for "Curves for the Catwalk." Finally, after
recent criticism about the lack of African-American models
used in magazines and fashion shows, I'll be on the lookout
for more diversity among the beautiful bodies on the
runway.
I think thinspiration comes in all shapes, colors and sizes.
We are all different and find beauty in different things...
diversity is the key to fashion if you asked me.
Bergdorf Goodman plans to mark the return of the high-end Calvin Klein Collection this fall
with an invitation-only preview of the minimalist label's spring line, complete with champagne
and a visit from designer Francisco Costa.
For Calvin Klein parent Phillips-Van Heusen Corp., the event will be an important test of its
strategy to restore the label's cachet. After seeing some of these fashions on the runway it is
obvious to see this return deserves a toast to Calvin Klein.This new line is geometric and
wonderful.. a taste of toga and futuristic designs twisted together.Kinda reminded me of
Logan's Run fashions but not in bright colors. Calvin used a tremendous amount of White on
the runway which is so elegant and always a winner for the collection. Click here to see some

Zac Posen is hard core when it comes to fashion. The spring collection he envisions - and he
previewed Thursday - included some dresses with an underlayer of Perspex, a type of acrylic
plastic, creating a shell around the hips. The opening look on the runway of Mercedes-Benz
Fashion Week was one of these tight top-stiff skirt number, this one in a tangerine colour
and elaborate beadwork.It certainly was a showpiece tailor-made for the catwalk.
Posen, however, also offered some softer, delicate looks that would be more wearable in
real life. Among the styles more likely to hit stores next season were a pretty one-shouldered
dress in marbled pistachio-green and a yellow poplin day dress with a handkerchief hem.
There was a sexy-sweet, lipstick-leopard print that Posen used for both a daytime chemise
and a beaded evening dress with a fully ruffled-front skirt.

Tommy Hilfiger did for his spring collection what he does best, taking
the trends that are coming out of New York Fashion Week and making
them a little crisper, a little more casual - a little more American.
Hilfiger presented his line Thursday night in front of a crowd that
included Hilary Swank and John Legend.
A long, off-white silk gazar coat with a white tunic and black cuffed
trousers or khaki jacket worn with a cotton tuxedo-style shirt might
not break any new ground, but they have the easy silhouette and
casual elegance that capture the look of the season. Yet they're not
outfits so fashion-forward for the core Hilfiger customer.
For men, the take-away look was slightly shrunken suits, worn with no
socks. In his notes, Hilfiger said he aimed to capture "a renewed
optimism.""The look is about easy glamour: long sundresses with
braided straps go from the beach to cocktails, while trench coats
loosen up in oversize, robe-like shapes," he wrote. "In contrast to the
softness of the womenswear, the menswear complements the

from last night's G-Star show: Fill the giant Park
Avenue Armory with free booze and add a throng of
non-fashion-industry folk; garnish with Heather
Graham and assorted celebrities. But most of you
probably figured that out yourselves since half of
Manhattan was there. Never have we been so
ungrateful for the magical powers of free alcohol!
With the help of a very kind headset-wearing lady, we
selfishly jumped the line, which was winding around
outside, so big we'd have cried if we had to wait on it
(it was the seventh day of Fashion Week — our inner
diva could be suppressed no longer). As we pushed
through the crowd, foreign people cursed us, our
giant handbag caught on any number of things, and
we nearly ate it several times — a promising start to

These fashions were perfect for Spring showing all these beautifully colored floral
prints which I love to wear in the Spring.... what looks better than a pretty little

it came to the collection itself, I was most impressed by the accessories (no surprise
given that Tony Burch is a CFDA-award winner for her accessories). The gold-spiked
cuff bracelets and skinny belts were very reminiscent of Hermes Collier de Chien and
were instantly eye-catching, as were the lust-worthy stacked gold bracelets, bold
chain necklaces, sexy pumps, straw fedoras, and handbags embellished with
neon-detailing (yes, it seems that neon will once again be back next spring). click here.

Italian label Malo has long been heralded as one of the top names in cashmere, yet Malo's
reputation as one of the more innovative forces behind knitwear steadily grows and has made
them editors' darlings when it comes to knits. The designer duo of Tommaso Aquilano and
Roberto Rimondi gave dark, industrial textured looks inspired by abtsract expressionist painter

Christian Siriano has been busy since winning season 4 of "Project Runway." He's
designing costumes for a movie, "Eloise in Paris," has been on "Ugly Betty" and other TV
shows, will be at the Emmy Awards next week, is working on a maternity line, has a book
coming out, and of course, he's been finalizing his Spring 2009 collection, which he
showed at Fashion Week Thursday night. "I'm doing so many projects! It's crazy," he said.
We caught the show and had some face time with both Siriano and "Runway" mentor Tim
Gunn, who raved about the designer. And what's Siriano's take on this season of

How to exercise while you are sitting at the
computer..You may think that it's not possible
to exercise while sitting at your desk at work.
But since so many of spend hours sitting in
front of a computer then why not try working
some of those muscles as well. Following is a
list of several exercises that you can do
while you sit in front of your computer.
1. Squeeze and release your buttock
muscles. You may fell a little silly doing this
while you are sitting in your chair, but it really
is a great way to firm up those butt muscles.
You just squeeze and release for at least a
good thirty minutes.
2. Next work on your Abs by taking a deep
breath in and release. While taking these
deep breaths you want to suck in your
stomach and hold then release. You can also
move you're upper in lower abdominal
muscles in and out in sort of a wave motion.
This may be pretty hard to do depending on
how strong your abdominal muscles are.
3. Try doing some shoulder rolls. Roll your
shoulders forward, and then roll them
backward. This is also a really great way to
relax when you have been working hard all
day long.
4. If you actually have time for a break from
typing, you can work on your arms. Hold a
book in each hand and lift your hands above
your head and lower to touch your shoulders.
Repeat this at least ten times. Make sure that
the books are not too heavy so that you end
up straining yourself. more.

the banana bags! Before you come to any false conclusions about what
banana bags actually are, know they have nothing to do with actually eating

enable users to eat less while still getting nutrients that could also help
satiate them. Banana bags are normally hooked up to undernourished
alcoholics in hospitals, but models and celebrities use them to get skinny.
Why the hell not, right?! To review: The latest diet craze involves voluntarily
attaching an IV to oneself. Nutritional psychologist Marc David, a "diet guru to
many supermodels" who is familiar with banana bags, tells the Daily Mail:
‘The nutrients in the banana bag are not enough. You can’t put in essential
fatty acids — EFA deficiency will lead to a decreased ability to burn calories,
irritability, fatigue, and dry hair, skin and nails. Also you’re not getting protein,
which is going to diminish your ability to build muscle tissue.'
Oh, they're not "good for you"? You don't say! David adds that not eating or
"bypassing the digestive process" ultimately wreaks havoc on the immune
system. But really — why go to the trouble of eating when you can stick a
needle in your arm and call it a day? Besides, we choose to think of this as

Lindsay Lohan is to dedicate her new album 'Spirit In The
Dark' to her girlfriend Samantha Ronson - according to UK

The newspaper claims that Lohan wants to pull the artwork
for the forthcoming album, to use a new cover that pays
tribute to her partner instead - a move which has allegedly
angered her record label.
"Sam has had a huge influence on the record," says a source.
"The artwork was finalised before Lindsay had gone public
with the relationship, so she concealed the tribute."
"Now it will name Samantha directly."...
Meanwhile, In Mexico the two girls frolicked on the beach in
their bikinis and yes, it looks like Lindsay's thighs are thinner
than her girl friends...

Leave it to Sienna Miller to turn the pap attention from her
homewrecky ways into a money making opportunity! A judge in
Britain gave her ass $27,000 in damages after the Daily Star
publishes these pictures of her doing dry sex to an elevator door.
Okay, she was really trying to hide from the paps. Sienna said she
was in "distress" at the time the pictures were taken and the paps
were clearly harassing her. Shortly after the pictures were
published on September 11th, Sienna's lawyers filed a lawsuit.
In addition to the $27k, the Daily Star was forced to say they are so
sowwy for acting like big meanies. They published this statement
this morning:
"We accept, as we said in the article, that Ms. Miller was extremely
harassed and distressed by persistent pursuit and intimidating
tactics adopted by numerous paparazzi in seeking to obtain
photographs of her, including the very photograph that we
published.
