3/2/2010 What do super models do to prepare for the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue photo shoot? For current cover model Bar Rafaeli, it
was cake. Literally. The 21-year-old Israeli supermodel admits she ate whatever she wanted and didn’t do any special workout to prepare for
the shoot.“They tell you ‘you better not go on a diet before the shoot’. Girls tend to think, ‘Oh my God, I have to be in swimwear, I have to
look amazing’. They just say, ‘You better not, girl!’ And they just let you eat all the time during the photo shoot. They love that; they love their
girls healthy,” said Rafaeli.

When asked about her typical regimen, her answer was simple, “exercise and eat right.”

Her fitness routine includes horseback riding, which she has done since she was a little girl. Horseback riding can actually be quite a trying
sport (burn about 400 calories/hour), and is good for toning the core and creating good posture, as well as working the back, thighs, calves,
and abs. She’s no stranger to working in the stables on her family’s farm either, which benefits the arms, shoulders and back.

To keep those long legs (she’s 5′ 8?) in kicking shape, Rafaeli kicks. She and her trainer work on martial arts and Krav Maga, a hand-to-hand
combat style of defense developed in Israel.

There is one bad habit that Bar Rafaeli has. She smokes! She tries not to smoke in public but it is one bad habit that she cannot kick. We

“I don’t feel the need to be super skinny, but being in shape is important. But even if I wasn’t in this industry I would still want to look
after myself and be healthy and keep my body in good condition,” Bar says.

“I always want to look my best on a shoot, or for a fashion show, so I do an extra couple of sit-ups the night before and I drink hot
water with lemon to get my metabolism kick-started in the morning and to cleanse my system, but I don’t do anything crazy.”

“There’s nothing worse than forcing yourself to spend hours in the gym when you don’t enjoy it, so I do all sorts of things to work out
because I get bored easily.

“I don’t diet and I don’t have an eating plan, but I like to eat healthily. I don’t deny myself anything and there’s nothing I wouldn’t eat. I
like desserts – I like food full-stop, but I exercise and I’m young, so everything keeps in check.”

“I guess every girl has days where she feels good and days where she feels she could lose a couple of pounds, and it’s the same for
me, I’m generally in pretty good shape, but if I have a major shoot or fashion show coming up and I want to look my best, then I’ll spend
a little extra time working out or I’ll stick to eating salads and chicken for a few days. I would never go on some crazy fad diet or eat
anything weird to get thinner – it’s just not good for your body.”

MY SKINNY:
I measure myself everyday to see where I am at.  I weigh myself everyday. I read all the diet information I can get my hands on and I check my body fat .
I concentrate on my
thinspiration and keep motivated. I stand on my head for ten minutes a day and do 50 push ups and 60 sit ups everyday without fail!!
This is something not proven but does seem to work for all who try it. I wear magnetic rings on different fingers for different results. This is something that works for me. I wear to magnetic rings on both of my pinky fingers when I
sleep and I do have a magnetic mattress pad this is supposed to prevent all types of illness and eliminate swelling, not to mention keep you looking younger.
I keep a  food journal, this is a proven weight management tool everyone should try.
I
exercise everyday.I have a part time job as a "floater" in a gym. A "floater" is someone who just comes in to teach and leaves. It is great because I work out for free, and I have to because it is my job.  I learned that if you gain
muscle you lose more weight because your body continues to burn more fat. I sleep at least 6 hours a night and drink plenty of water. To keep my skin healthy at bedtime I massage pure almond oil into the areas I want firmer I also
use some moisturizing products to really enhance the skin, and I take one aloe vera capsule two times a day to avoid looking older or you can drink it for quicker results... Aloe juice.
I take a Cayenne supplement to boost my metabolism.I take a multi-vitamin and I drink a pro-biotic to avoid any yeast. Yeast can make you stop losing weight even in
starvation mode.
When you don't eat very much your metabolism can slow down and you stop losing weight. Because heavy spices bother my stomach I take a supplement. It is preferable to actually eat the spices. I use apple cider vinager on my
salads and in a tincture to help better my digestion and quicken my weight loss.
I suggest that everyone who wants to lose weight and look great, do some of the same. Try some of the
