If you are eating foods that have hidden fats and salts you may not be losing as much weight as
you should  be....
Fast food salads - you may have thought you were diligently following your weight loss plan by
ordering a salad instead of burger at the food court in the mall, but watch out! Many of these
salads contain as much fat as a burger and offer very few health benefits. If you order a salad,
make sure to get the dressing on the side and ask for no cheese or bacon bits. Don’t let a
potentially good dieting choice like salad be shattered by fattening add-ons.

Frozen yogurt - just when you thought you’d found the perfect substitute for ice cream!
Promoted as a dieter’s dream, you have to watch out for this one - frozen yogurt is often high in
sugar and calories. It may be low in fat but it’s not the best option for your weight loss plan.

Banana chips - it might seem that munching on banana chips would be a great way to lose
weight, but these supposedly-healthy chips are actually no better than a bag of potato chips.
Banana chips are also fried in oil, and are loaded with sugar.

Rice cakes - rice cakes at one point were considered the epitome of diet foods. They’re low in
calories and taste like Styrofoam so they must be a diet food, right? Wrong! Rice cakes are
extremely high on the Glycemic Index and will cause rapid spikes in your blood sugar level. They’
ll do little satisfy your hunger or your dieting goals.

Fruit juice - fruit juice sounds healthy, but it’s really not. Very few juices on the market consist of
pure fruit juice. Many have a ton of preservatives and added sugars. A fresh piece of fruit is far
more satisfying and contains a ton of healthy nutrients.

Protein bars - these are a convenient option if you’re on the run or need a quick pick-me-up, but
don’t rely on protein bars on a regular basis. They’re over-processed and don’t contain many
nutrients. Besides, many are extremely high in calories and fat. Real food tastes better and will
satisfy you longer.

Trail mix - many associate trail mix with health fanatics, but it actually doesn’t help with weight
loss. Trail mix is extremely high in fat and often contains added sugars. For a heart-healthy
source of fat grab a handful of natural almonds instead.

Fat-free products - before you get overly excited by those fat-free chocolate cookies you just
purchased at the grocery store, you’d better check the label. Many fat-free products contain a
ton of additives and are still high in calories. Also dieters often feel they can overindulge in these
foods because they are low in fat. Remember that calories do add up, and they aren’t all coming
from fat. If you’re really craving a particular food, have a bite and let it go. The fat-free version
won’t satisfy your craving and probably won’t contribute anything meaningful to your weight
loss plan.

Flavored oatmeal - oatmeal can be an excellent part of your weight loss plan, if you choose
natural oats. Flavored oatmeal on the other hand (the kinds that are available in those little
packages), is usually high on the Glycemic Index and contains a lot of added sugar (that’s why it
tastes so good). Instead, flavor natural oatmeal yourself with fresh fruit.


If you like frozen entrees. You are not alone...They are pretty much a dieter's best friend. They
are very convenient, low in calories and have a variety of meals to choose from. The upside is
that they fit with just about any weight loss plan you use. On the downside, frozen entrees can
be loaded with sodium. Too much can be a big problem for people with high blood pressure or
health conditions that require low sodium. The best thing to do is check the nutritional content
on each meal before purchasing. Keeping your sodium down is key to losing water weight and
keeping it off...So, if the word healthy is on the box, the federal law requires that the product
contain less than 3 grams of fat for every 100 grams and no more than 30 percent of calories
from fat. The sodium content must not be more than 600 milligrams. Here is a few example of
sodium content in entrees:

Smart Ones Fajita Chicken Supreme(9.25 oz) = 650mg sodium

Healthy Choice Beef Merlot (10 oz) = 600mg sodium

Lean Cuisine's Chicken Chow Mein (9 oz) = 670mg sodium

Life Choice Chicken Parmesan (12.35 oz) = 1,110mg sodium

Another big mistake with some people is that they think all frozen foods are precooked and only
need to be warmed. Foods can be prepared to look precooked like chicken that is pre-browned
or breaded. Any microwave dish can be unsafe if not heated thoroughly. Know your microwave
and its voltage. Experts say to use an instant-read thermometer to check the final temperature of
your food. Check many places of the food to ensure no cold spots. Federal guidelines say that
raw chicken containing foods should be heated to 165 degrees F.

Since a microwave's wattage can deteriorate over time, test your microwave. Place several ice
cubes in a bowl of water, stir to make water icey cold, then remove ice. Measure 1 cup of the cold
water and set in microwave. Heat high for 4 minutes, while watching to see when water boils.
This will tell your ovens wattage. If less than 2 minutes, at least 1000 watts. For 21/2 minutes,
about 800 watts, and 3 or more minutes, around 700 watts or less.
Just remember that there are a big variety of frozen foods out there. Keep your sodium intake
low, your vegetables high, and calories low. Read the nutritious facts on the back or side of the
box, and be healthy.

How to cook Salmon

3 - Stir 2 teaspoons of Hershey's chocolate syrup into a cup of coffee for Café Mocha.

4 - Tea - Russian style: Stir in 2 teaspoons of strawberry jam.

5 - 1/4 cup of fat-free Ranch dressing and 1 cup of mixed fresh veggies such as jicama, red bell
pepper, celery, carrot sticks and cherry tomatoes.

6 - 6 saltine crackers and 2 teaspoons of peanut butter.

7- 1/2 cup of fat free ice cream.

8 - A luscious parfait: 1/2 c. of low-fat pudding layered into a parfait glass alternating with two
crumbled vanilla wafers and a dollop of Cool Whip gracing the top.

9 - A wonderfully filling half sandwich made of 1 slice reduced-calorie bread, a thin layer of
mustard, 2 teaspoons of apple sauce and 1 slice of deli-style thin-sliced turkey. Add lettuce and
voila!

10 - Try another sandwich idea: 1 slice of reduced-calorie bread, 1/2 Tablespoon of peanut butter
and 1 Tablespoon of fat-free raspberry vinegarette dressing.

11 - Over a small baked potato, spoon 1/2 cup of salsa and 2 Tablespoons of non-fat sour cream.

12 - I really like this one: one rice cake thinly spread with fat-free sour cream and sprinkled with 1
Tablespoon of crumbled blue cheese.

13 - Place a marshmallow on top of a graham cracker and microwave until gooey. Drizzle with a
teaspoon of Hershey's chocolate syrup.

14 - Cut half an apple into slices and spread with 2 teaspoons of peanut butter.

15 - 1/2 cup of applesauce and 1 piece of toast cut into four sticks for dunking.

16 - Freeze 1/2 cup of orange juice and eat with a spoon. Nice little sorbet!

17 - 2 graham cracker squares each spread with 1 teaspoon of peanut butter.

18 - an 8 oz. low-fat yogurt or a small container of low-fat pudding.

19 - 1 slice of reduced calorie bread spread with 1/4 cup low-fat cottage cheese mixed with 2
Tablespoons of applesauce and sprinkled with cinnamon. Especially good warmed in the
microwave.

20 - a cup of coffee and a small biscotti.


Experiment with flavors and you'll be amazed with the combinations you can come up with
totaling under 100 calories. Some are very ordinary but it's the ordinary things that can make
you feel deprived when you think you can't have them. So go ahead and indulge -- you're doing
fine.


Snacking can be a dieter's worst nightmare and although snack companies are making it easier
by creating smaller portion sized snacks in individual packaging - sometimes the dieter would
like a little something different.

Longtime Victoria’s Secret supermodel Alessandra Ambrosio recently came under fire for appearing what
many perceived as “too skinny” just 18 months after giving birth to her first child. But while the 5’10 Brazilian
beauty insists she’s healthy, Alessandra did admit that she wouldn’t mind expanding at least one very
important body part.

“I wish I had a bigger butt. A little bit more booty wouldn’t hurt,” Ambrosio told Pop Tarts at the 15th
Anniversary of the Victoria's Secret Swim Catalogue at the SLS Hotel in Los Angeles last week. “When I was
pregnant I had a much bigger booty and I was very happy with it.”

But to follow in Ambrosio’s footsteps and get a super svelte bikini bod of your own, the 28-year-old
recommends you walk your dog. Or your little one.

“For summertime people should go outside and walk around. If you have a dog, go walk the dog, or if you have
a kid go walk the kid,” Ambrosio added. “Just have fun, that’s what I do. I love roller-blading…sometimes I go
on a bike; I just like to have fun.”

Candice Swanepoel says she works out 3-4 times per week and opts for a “balanced” approach to eating while
“Angel”
Miranda Kerr relies on the downward dog.

“I do
yoga, I’ve been practicing yoga for a long time now so I have my regular yoga routine," Kerr said. “I also
love Pilates. I eat extremely healthy and organic; also body brushing is a great way to detoxify the body. And
doing a few squats, going for run in central park and running through the airport.”

And we all have those days when we wake up with a bloated belly, bad hair and puffy eyes – but thankfully,
most of us don’t have to squeeze into a swimsuit to make a living. But when you’re a Victoria’s Secret
supermodel, you have to have some mind-over-matter strategies to deal with it.

“I really believe that as humans we have really a strong mind and if we can tap into that and just be like, ‘Okay,
let’s just do it, let’s just roll with it.’ The power of the mind is so strong that we can actually create a happy day
even if we’ve woken up feeling bad,” Kerr said. “Whatever thoughts we’re thinking can create a better day for
us.”

But for bad days, Swanepoel relies on her hair-and-makeup team to work their magic and Ambrosio blasts away
the unpleasant with the pop of a pill.

“You just have to forget. I’ve had many of those days and I just have to go and do my job, it’s all about like
forgetting, maybe having an aspirin,” she added.

MY SKINNY:
I measure myself everyday to see where I am at.  I weigh myself everyday. I read all the diet information I can get my hands on and I check my body fat .
I concentrate on my
thinspiration and keep motivated. I stand on my head for ten minutes a day and do 50 push ups and 60 sit ups everyday without fail!!
This is something not proven but does seem to work for all who try it. I wear magnetic rings on different fingers for different results. This is something that
works for me. I wear to magnetic rings on both of my pinky fingers when I sleep and I do have a magnetic mattress pad this is supposed to prevent all types
of illness and eliminate swelling, not to mention keep you looking younger.
I keep a  food journal, this is a proven weight management tool everyone should try.
I
exercise everyday.I have a part time job as a "floater" in a gym. A "floater" is someone who just comes in to teach and leaves. It is great because I work out
for free, and I have to because it is my job.  I learned that if you gain muscle you lose more weight because your body continues to burn more fat. I sleep at
least 6 hours a night and drink plenty of water. To keep my skin healthy at bedtime I massage pure almond oil into the areas I want firmer I also use some
moisturizing products to really enhance the skin, and I take one aloe vera capsule two times a day to avoid looking older or you can drink it for quicker
results... Aloe juice.
I take a Cayenne supplement to boost my metabolism.I take a multi-vitamin and I drink a pro-biotic to avoid any yeast. Yeast can make you stop losing weight
even in
starvation mode.
When you don't eat very much your metabolism can slow down and you stop losing weight. Because heavy spices bother my stomach I take a supplement. It
is preferable to actually eat the spices. I use apple cider vinager on my salads and in a tincture to help better my digestion and quicken my weight loss.
