Fat Flush Diet
The Fat Flush Plan was developed by nutritionist Anne Louise Gittleman. In her
book Fat Flush Anne Louise Gittleman brings a modern day detox into her weight
loss program. The Fat Flush explains the five hidden factors that sabotage weight
loss & vitality: the health of ones liver, food sensitivities and resulting waterlogged
tissues, fear of eating fat, excess insulin/excess inflammation, and stress. The Fat
Flush Plan consists of whole natural foods eaten without salt.
Prohibited foods, beverages, spices, and ingredients include:
Yeast related vinegars (except apple cider vinegar)
Starchy vegetables (first phase)
Dairy products (except whey first phase)
Herbs and Spices (except those outlined in The Fat Flush Plan)
Phase 1 is considered the hardest stage of the program. It is the cleansing phase of
the program designed to encourage weight loss by giving the liver support and
nourishment. Food restrictions in Phase 1 include: no herbs or spices except for

a friendly carbohydrate each week while checking for any adverse reaction.
Diet Phase 3: This is the Lifestyle Eating Plan Phase is basically the fat flush
maintenance program. Now two dairy products, grains, & a variety of starchy
vegetables can be reintroduced. These foods are added back one at a time to gage
your body’s reaction. At this stage of the diet program your daily percentages
typically amount to 40 percent carbs, 30 percent protein and 30 percent fat.

Sample Meal Plan - Fat Flush Phase 1
“Long Life” cocktail [psyllium husks in cran-water - see below]
8 oz hot water with lemon juice
Vegetable scramble - 2 scrambled eggs, with spinach, green peppers, scallions, and parsley.
8 oz glass of cran-water [diluted unsweetened cranberry juice]
1/2 Large grapefruit
20 minutes before lunch
8 oz glass of cran water
4 ounces of salmon with lemon and garlic, warm asparagus, mixed-green salad with broccoli florets and
cucumber, 1 tablespoon flaxseed oil, and one 8 oz glass of cran-water
Mid afternoon snack

4 ounces of grilled lamb chop with pinch of cinnamon and dried mustard, sautéed kale in broth, baked
