ALL THESE HOLLYWOOD WEDDINGS IT IS THE SEASON....Wedding bells are chiming. It's that season
again.

Everyone wants to look and feel his/her best on that SPECIAL day. And there's no time like RIGHT NOW to
start dropping those extra pounds, kissing those love handles good-bye and
toning those muscles.

The Chicago-based freelance journalist eliminated sugar and flour from her diet and cut back on
carbohydrates.

"When I did Atkins, everything dropped," she says. "I began studying how sugar and flour react and what
they do to the body. When I eliminated those from my diet, I noticed the weight was dropping off. I was
losing 10 pounds a month. I know that some diets don't work for everyone, but I would say really study and
research."

Sugar can be difficult to avoid, says Fouch Price, because it is in so many foods. But she managed by
increasing her intake of vegetables, especially broccoli, string beans and salads.

Exercise has helped her to lose weight. In addition to doing sit-ups ("I did not want to wear a girdle on my
wedding day"), she wakes up at 5:30 a.m. to do a 90-minute,
5-mile trot. She even ran on the morning of
her wedding.

Nutrition educator Barbara M. Dixon, RD, encourages people to change their lifestyle as opposed to
reaching for a short-term weight loss goal. She encourages people to seek professional guidance by
visiting a registered dietician or nutritionist, if diet and exercise doesn't work...

In the meantime, certain foods should be avoided that cause weight gain, says Dixon, also administrator of
Dixon Medical Clinic, Inc. in Baton Rouge, LA.

"Foods high in salt can cause fluid retention," she says. "Avoid processed foods, those cured or have salt.
The less salt, the less you're likely to retain fluid. Drink a minimum of six to eight glasses of water to get rid
of that."

Getting married can be beautiful, but it can also be a stressful time. Find a way to have time for yourself
instead of turning to food, she notes.

"People overeat as a response to stress. They eat anything available because they are responding to
stress and eating what is convenient," says Dixon, author of Good Health For African Americans. "Stress
makes you eat more."

She suggests people stay away from
fast food and "comfort foods," those high in fat and sugar. Reading
labels can be helpful in avoiding foods high in fat, sugar and salt.

Dixon believes that keeping a
food diary is a way to monitor excessive snacking and eating.

"It is important to identify what food you eat under stress. Being able to identify what you're eating can help
you avoid those things. Bring snack foods that are healthy like fruits, pretzels (not salty) and unsweetened
fruit juices."

Cutting calories is another way to lose weight, says Dixon.

"Reduce total calories that you normally eat by
500 calories a day," she says. "Do that every day for a
week. You can lose a pound a week."

Dixon adds that watching servings and limiting soft drinks and alcoholic beverages can be beneficial in
weight reduction. And broiling, baking and grilling foods keep calories down.

Leading fitness professional Jeanette Jenkins, founder and president of The Hollywood Trainer, believes
that a person can lose weight before the wedding by hiring a personal trainer. Motivation is essential in
weight loss, says Jenkins.

"Ask a friend or relative to hire a personal trainer as a wedding gift," she says. "It's been proven that
trainers will increase your results if you stick to your program. They will
push you 110 percent. If there isn't
anything or anyone motivating them to keep going, it's really easy to fall off with working out."

If money isn't in the budget, says Jenkins, a person could find a class or instructor at a gym for motivation.
"You could use a spinning class or boot camp. Go there every week," adds Jenkins, a former "Fear Factor"
grand prize winner.

"You should do cardio and strength training combined," says Jenkins. "You can do this in a class or on your
own or you can buy a DVD. The cardio will help you burn calories and the strength training will give muscle
toning. After you've finished interval training, you stay in a higher intensity zone, which means your
metabolic rate will stay really high for two or three hours after."

For the problem area, the tummy, Jenkins encourages people to "learn how to pull abs in all day long. Don't
let your stomach hang out all day. Pulling in your abs is a motor skill. It's really easy, but people are not
used to it."

Actress and lifestyle adjustment coach A.J. Johnson is the creator of The AJ Zone. Her fitness regimen
encompasses physical, mental, nutritional and spiritual fitness.

She encourages people to drink lots and
lots of water.

"Water replenishes and flushes. Its purpose is to flush out whatever is toxic in the system," Johnson says.
"When things aren't flushing, it can show as fluid. Sugar is not properly flushing. It's sitting in the system and
it's making you bigger. Make sure you flush it."

Johnson, who is working with bride-to-be actress Sheryl Lee Ralph, says that doing simple things can help
you lose weight. You can turn those things in your lifestyle into productive exercise, she says.

She also says that finalizing wedding plans is a great time to incorporate exercise.

"Meet at the park or at the gym. Discuss the guest list on the treadmill. Or go over the list while you're
walking on the beach."

For that stubborn middle section, Johnson suggests doing side bends for the waistline and at least 100
sit-ups a day. "Your food is really your stomach," she says.
"Sit-ups can also help you with posture at the
