Peter Som and his ethereal designs are a welcomed breath of fresh air in fashion week. His youth is his source of power and some say he is the next Michael Kors. I couldn't agree more.
The collection was clean and looked as comfortable as it was beautiful and feminine. His time at Parsons and under the wings of Calvin Klein, Michael Kors, and Bill Blass are what dreams are made of. Nathalie Portman, Emily Blunt, and
Amanda Peet are among his fan base that is rampantly growing.
Short, subtly detailed dresses utilized fabrics and texture to create appeal. Sweeping gowns and slacks shared the runway with lux furs and silk. Only slightly straying from the depth of versatile blacks, whites, and silvers that were on the
edge of platinum. A lime green silky skirt was perfect for the knee length fur coat that accompanied it. An understated jacket was covered in a light lace that made you look twice to notice. The matching bubbly skirt followed on a model
with her hands deep inside the pockets. A warmed magenta didn't win my favor but, I was happy to see the use of color that stepped outside the box.
Ruffles and heavenly plush fur were gorgeous. Lets just hope the fluffy coat is PETA friendly. There was a distinct air of beauty to the layered dresses that floated down the runway with tiers of fabric flowing behind. Some looks stayed
on the safe side. However, when you are paving the road to your status it is acceptable.
